interactive sound installation for a modified rotary telephone, light, and a quadraphonic sound system

About
The title refers to the concept of line of flight, introduced by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, describing a process through which a system moves beyond its established functions and opens itself to new connections and possibilities. In this installation, the line of flight manifests itself as the impossibility of definitively fixing the relationship between a human being and a system.
In the twentieth century, the telephone became one of the key technologies of human communication. It enabled direct contact across distance and embodied the promise of connection and response.
Line of Flight draws upon this promise, preserving the form of a communication device while rethinking the very nature of contact.
The visitor performs familiar actions: lifting the receiver, speaking, listening, dialing numbers, pressing buttons, or waiting for a response. Yet instead of a direct and transparent connection, they encounter an autonomous logic reacting to their behavior. Responses emerge through delays, deviations, and interruptions, while the relationship between actions and reactions remains only partially understandable.
